The Heath Osteopathic Practice is closed for a short break, from Friday 13th May to Friday 20th May inclusive.
My name is Jenny Howell BSc (Ost Med) DO, ND, MSCCO and I am the Osteopath at the Heath Osteopathic Practice, in Tufnell Park in Islington. I trained at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine and have been working as an Osteopath since 2005. As Osteopaths we keep up to date and build on our skills and experience, by attending courses every year. This has included Courses at the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, of which I am a Member. Other courses include ergonomics or work station postural advice, paediatrics and pregnant women. I have extensive experience of treating children and ante/postal women. I am fully insured and registered with the General Osteopathic Council and the Institute of Osteopathy and with most of the private health insurance companies.
I will continue to wear a surgical mask and implement my cleaning and disinfection routines, as well as providing ventilation, to help prevent the spread of COVID19, until further notice. I will also be continuing to require my patients to wear a mask, unless medically exempt, so that we can each protect each other. I have been doubly vaccinated and had the booster and continue to take lateral flow tests twice a week. Please cancel your appointment if you are feeling unwell with any signs of infection. Please see the appointment page for more details.

I spend long periods of time at a computer and because of this and the stress of meeting tight deadlines, I experienced a lot of pain in my neck, shoulder and arm. I had little movement in my neck and was having difficulty turning my head. I was experiencing discomfort at night while sleeping. However, after only a few sessions with Jenny, things got sorted through massage and manipulation.
She gave me a series of exercises to do, which I still do, and recommended a pilates class. I haven't had any trouble since. I think anyone who spends a long period of time in front of a computer should see an osteopath regularly to ensure they are not doing any lasting damage due to stress and poor posture.
Dr Gill Craig
Before treatment: "Painful back, limited movement, restricted activity"
After treatment: "standing straighter, pain relieved, increased agility"
The difference that Osteopathy has made to me: "Awareness of how to look after my back and make it stronger despite advancing years!"
I highly recommend Jenny, who has helped with my both lower and upper back pain issues on two separate occasions over the past 2 years. I always walk out feeling so much better. Jenny also gave me stretches and movements to strengthen the problem areas, which I now do daily at home. The space is very clean and covid safe as well. Thank you Jenny!
